2008 Funniest Fish/Aquatic Creature Contest
Official Rules
CONTEST DURATION
Submissions for this contest will begin as of 21:30 PDT on October 4, 2008 and will close at 23:00 PDT on October 13, 2008. Voting on submissions will begin as of 09:00 PDT on October 14, 2008 and will close as of 23:00 PDT on October 19, 2008
ELIGIBILITY
All individuals who are registered members of Canadian Aquarium Connection either at the time of the start of the contest or before the closing date and time for submissions are eligible to enter with the following exceptions. Administrators of Canadian Aquarium Connection, or members of their immediate family and/or those individuals living in the same household of each are NOT eligible. Members who are Banned by Canadian Aquarium Connection as of the closing date of the contest are also NOT eligible. Canadian Aquarium Connection reserves the right to verify all eligibility requirements.
PRIZE ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to win a prize a member must post both a photo and optional associated info in the 2008 Funniest Fish/Aquatic Creature Submissions (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?p=46356#post46356post46356) thread as follows:
one photo of an occupant or occupants of your tank or pond: (fish or other aquatic creature(s) (posted as a .jpg format attachment file)
add a description, explanation or commentary regarding the photo (optional...not required)Notes:
Only one (1) submission per member is permitted
Photo must have been taken by the member submitting the photo
Photo must be posted as a .jpg attachment. Links to photos hosted on another site will not be accepted.Prizes will only be awarded to members who upon being notified of having won a prize, provide the Administrator(s) of Canadian Aquarium Connection of their actual name and a valid Canadian mailing address, to enable the awarding and shipping of the prize to the winner. This confidential information will not be shared with anyone.
SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING ALL PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Please note that by entering this contest, the photographer will retain the copyright of the photograph but agrees to let the owners of CanadianAquariumConnection.com use the photograph with credit to the photographer, indefinitely, without restriction or compensation of any kind. The photographer further agrees to allow total unrestricted editing and publishing of said photograph (such as, but not limited to, cropping and resizing of the photograph).
PRIZE
The prize for this contest consists of a copy of the book:
Aquarium Care of Livebearers by Ted Dengler Coletti, Ph.D. provided by CanadianAquariumConnection.comPlus a copy of the magazine:
American Livebearer Assocication 2008 Convention May-June Issue 201 provided by Melody who generously has shared her extra copies which were provided to her by the ALA in appreciation for her work as a Photo Editor.Additional note: The prize must be accepted as awarded. Canadian Aquarium Connection reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the prize is unavailable or for any other reason it deems necessary.
PRIZE WINNER
Votes are cast by registered members and each member is limited to casting only one vote (controlled by the vBulletin software). The winner will be the member whose submission received the greatest number of votes by the end of the Contest. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker vote will be run. All decisions of Canadian Aquarium Connection regarding the award of prizes are final.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The winner will be notified by the Administrator(s) by a Private Message on the Canadian Aquarium Connection website the Winner will have 2 weeks (14 days) from the date of attempted notification to reply to this notification and accept his/her prize. Failure to reply within this time frame or non compliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification and, at the discretion of Canadian Aquarium Connection, the prize will be revoked.
POSTING OF THE WINNER
The winner's USERNAME will be posted on the Canadian Aquarium Connection website once the prize has been awarded.
ADDITIONAL TERMS
By participating, members agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and the decisions of Canadian Aquarium Connection and its sponsors, which are final and binding in all respects. Members agree to hold Canadian Aquarium Connection, its sponsors, and their respective families, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers, prize manufacturers/distributors and the respective directors, officers, employees and agents of the foregoing (collectively, the "Released Parties"), harmless against any and all claims and/or liability arising out of or in connection with participation in this contest, acceptance, use or redemption of a prize, and/or use of any rights granted herein.
Released Parties are not responsible for late, delayed, misdirected, lost, damaged, or undelivered communications, including but not limited to private messages and email; or for any other errors or problems of any kind relating to or in connection with the contest, including, but not limited to errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the contest, the announcement of the prizes or winners or in any contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any injury or damage to person(s) or property that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from an individual’s participation in the contest.
