Is it a big o-ring? It probably goes in or around the pump assembly. At least, that's how most canister filters are designed.

I'm not familiar with canister filters but am trying to find some answers for you on the net. I am trying to translate the hydor site to get some info for you. Is the gasket a red in color?

I realize the urgency of this situation, so I moved your thread here to the F/W ER section temporaily as we likely have F/W foks familiar with that cannister who may be able to help you (& who may not be looking at the Marine section at the moment & also not realize the urgency of the matter).

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost the leopard wrasse. ::(: Where abouts are you located? Maybe someone can help. If you're in the lower mainland, I'd be happy to loan you a small airpump.

I have now moved the thread back here to the Marine section in case you need help with your fish &/or water parameters after being without a pump for so long. I certainly hope that you get things back to normal without any further losses. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It's always a good idea to have some additional powerheads in a SW tank to provide water movement. You may want to consider getting some while you're out shopping for a new filter. The Hydor Koralias are great because the flow is very dispersed yet they move a lot of water.

You're most welcome. I'm just glad to hear the addition of the pump helped the rest of your beautiful fish survive the night.

And here you thought you had the problem solved with the replacement O-ring. At least you still have my little pump for now for water flow and oxygenation. Good luck choosing a new canister filter. You probably already know what you want to purchase but if it helps there is a thread here (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4767) with input from some members as to their preferences if that's of any help.

I missed all of this so I guess all I have to offer this :hugs: . I know next to nothing about marine filtration, but I usually have an HOB and/or pump kicking around if it happens again. Hopefully you won't see a cycle with the abrupt change in filtration. Good luck!
