The International Union for the Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) (http://www.protectplanetocean.org/) has launched a global portal featuring Google Reef, a deeper layer of Google Earth. Find and tour nearby protected areas or travel the World in search of them (approximately 4500), all from your desktop.
While on the IUCN website, you can view local news, facts and find out how you can help.
This is a fantastic idea and I look forward to being a frequent visitor of this website!
