Photo must have been taken by the member submitting the photo
Photo must be posted as a .jpg attachment. Links to photos hosted on another site will not be accepted.
Photo must be in reasonably in focus and a minimum size of 200x200 pixels
Photo must be accompanied by the latin and common names.
Please note that by submitting a photo, the photographer will retain the copyright of the photograph but agrees to let the owners of CanadianAquariumConnection.com use the photograph with credit to the photographer, indefinitely, without restriction or compensation of any kind. The photographer further agrees to allow total unrestricted editing and publishing of said photograph (such as, but not limited to, cropping and resizing of the photograph). Credit to the photographer will be shown on the photo in the Gallery as either © actual name of the photographer or © member Username CanadianAquariumConnection.com

That's because each winner will get to pick his/her prize. 1st Prize winner will get to choose any prize. Each winner after that gets to 'Pick a Prize' from whichever ones remain at the time of their turn to choose (2nd thru 7th place).

Wow! You folks don't waste any time getting entered into the contest. Lots of great pics being posted for the Photo Gallery! We very much appreciate your efforts to help build a fantastic Photo Gallery.:yes: :Smile:


However, I just thought I ought to mention in case anyone overlooked it, that while we welcome multiple posts in each category ::D:, only one post per category actually qualifies as an entry into the Contest.

If one posts a number of entries, would they need to specify which one they would like to be entered? or...something else?

No need to specify anything because the contest is a Random Draw. Just by submitting any eligible photo (according to the guidelines above) your name goes into the draw! That's it! ::D: It's not about a winning photo, article, profile, project or auction listing. Those are just ways to gain an entry (up to 5 entries if one submits something in each category).


PS. We're also quite happy if you decide to submit more than one photo to add to the Gallery.:Smile: So no need to choose.

They are jpg images, but to post them as jpg attachments you need to do the following:

Click the http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/images/editor/attach.giftool in the menu of the editor and you it will open the 'Manage Attachments' Window where you can either upload from your computer or from the URL of a remote location.

You won't see the image until you post. Hope this helps. If you're still having difficulties, let me know and I'll be happy to assist.

Just wondering - I've posted a few shots of livebearers recently, formatted by photobucket. Are you able to lift those shots into the club gallery, of do I have to repost them if I want them available to the CAC?

As you know there are 5 different ways to enter the contest one of which is entering a photo submission for our Species Photo Gallery. (:secret: Great excuse to try out a new camera if you happen to get one for Christmas.:wink: ). Also note, that you can submit a photo of a fish we already have in the gallery as views of various fish from different angles do help with someone trying to ID a species.

Remember pics can be of any species of aquarium fish, plant or creature (even the most common varieties). :yes:

If you want you can go through my Photobucket album if I have pictures of the creature you're writing about - you're welcome to use them anywhere at any time. Make sure you tell Mom though or she'll have a heart attack before she realizes you aren't posting pictures after all :laugh: . You take such good care of your pets and they're exceptionally healthy, I'm sure everyone will enjoy your submission(s).
