Wow! Christmas lights up already!:swoon: No, not mine. I don't get around to that until December.) While I was at work the past nights, I noticed several houses on ,y various routes with, not only their outdoor lights, but other outdoor Christmas ornaments up too (Snowmen, Santas, etc.). And tonight, I just noticed that a couple of people in the building where I live have lights up on their balconies. It definitely brightens up the dark nights but to me it seems just toooooo early to me (Christmas is still more than a month away.)
Does anybody here have their outdoor Christmas lights up yet?

I thought it was way too early, as well, but I figured I was being scroogy. Glad to see I am not the only one who thinks the middle of November is too early for ALL those lights, lol, there are LOTS up in my city too.

I will probally start pulling stuff out next Friday. I usually decorate the week after Thanksgiving (this Thursday). For the past 3 years we have not decorated for Christmas as we go to Florida to see my folks but this year I think (think being the operative word) I'm going to do it. Plus hubby is away so much if I don't get them out next week they won't go up at all. Maybe the houses with lights are more Canadian forces wives lol.

As Kat is American I guess she still celebrates American Thanksgiving. She probably celebrates both Canadian and American Thanksgiving... that way she gets to have turkey twice.

Yep Jay's right, the Thanksgiving that I know and love is this coming Thursday. Its always been the benchmark for Christmas decor being dragged out. Unless you are my best friends mom who loves the holidays and has had her Christmas tree up since the day after Halloween! Everyone knows better then to argue with her lol, she's been doing this since we were small kids.

Katalyst, I am not an american but live in the US with an american wife so you can bet this coming Thursday will be our Thanksgiving. My daughter has a lark with Canadian Thanksgiving. She and all her friends have family obligations on the US Thanksgiving so they get together with each other and have a party on Canadian Thanksgiving.

Our situations are similar. I am living in Canada with my Canadian husband. We spent Canadian Thanksgiving with my in laws, but lets just say my Mother in law is very *adventurous when it comes to cooking. I'm going to cook a typical Amercian mini Thanksgiving.
*adventurous meaning scary!

Thanks Jay!
Yesterday I ended up not really feeling that well at all. Hubby offered to do the whole thing but I was too tired to care unfortunately. I ended up having chicken and tater tots lol. I'm taking a rain check on thanksgiving until Sat or Sun.

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Much better to hold off on dinner until you feel well enough to enjoy it. Get lots of rest and hopefully come Sunday you'll be able to enjoy gobbling down some turkey.
