I've noticed mention here of people keeping "Pistol Shrimp", and only wonder about them as was brought up by a co-worker today of some of the things they are capable of.
(Breaking glass with sound was one of them, and the light they can produce is apparently hotter than the sun.(?))
This was mentioned on a different site than this however.-

I've moved this here to the Marine Invert section as Pistol shrimp are actually SW and not FW.

Such interesting creatures. I went looking for a photo of them and found this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKPrGxB1Kzc

Even cooler are the varieties that live in a symbiotic relationship with gobies. The pistol shrimp digs a burrow and they both live in it. When out of the burrow the shrimp keeps contact with the goby using it's antennae. Since the goby has better vision it will dart back in the burrow when danger approaches and thus alert the shrimp to the danger as well.

That's amazing... such different creatures sharing an abode and dependant upon one another (Humans could learn much from relationships in nature.)

A further list of symbiotic species.-

I found the Egyptian Plover and the Crocodile too be listed as scientifically undocumented a little surprising, i thought that was a given.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. It's amazing how many symbiotic relationships there are.
