Good luck getting them to stay still long enough to count. :swoon:
Thanks for sharing your pics... keep 'em coming.

You just keep snapping - I like looking at other people's tanks, even empty looking ones.
I have a zillion plastic plants if you want them on the next trade - Mr. Oscar wouldn't like the taste of those, but I suppose he could still 'uproot' them. I silicone nice rocks into the base of the ones that I use, but he'd just laugh at that  .

Otto (my oscar) will only get floating plants from now on, but his pleco friend (brandon) keeps eating them up ( even all the duckweed Yay!!). No plastic plants for him either as that didn't work out, they always ended up on the other side of the of the tank somewhere and he would constantly attack them. But I'll probably try again :)

I love that new camera of yours ;) .
I don't want to alarm you, but there's a FISH in that big tank! We all thought that he was your pretend fish friend  . He's a big one alright - neat coloring.

He just likes to play hide and seek. After all, it would be awfully boring if you always knew where he was!

So last night I was fishing for excuses not to study after posting my pics that I decided I will redo my bichir tank so it would look less boring and I like it alot better now. The bichirs are swimming around alot more too, before only one swam around the other one hid under a log all day. So that means I got some pics of them :)
Now the tank isn't just a log with java moss in it anymore. I changed the lighting a bit, but it's only relaly bright in the middle where it hits the amazon sword.

Wow those are some beautiful tanks! I WISH I could keep plants like those but my goldfish just shred them. Recently I bought all these gorgueous floating plants and figured I'll fix them...Well now they are in a black ugly floating basket in the tank which no one can either see (me) or enjoy (the fish)...Now I'm wondering what the point is lol.

Jun 5th 2007, 01:18 PM
yes x-ray tetras are the same as pristella tetras. :) I've never seen them before though so I had to get them. I love glass cats too. Plants look good anywhere! Even in a bucket!

Great shots! I hope you have better luck with your BA's Pintails than I did. I bought a tank full of them and not one survived. They were pretty while they lasted though. They brought a nasty bug with them too  .

The disease they brought to me was a weird one. It was slow - there was always a fish or two fading away while the others appeared fine, then a couple more would be sick, until they were all gone. Once I caught on I started euthanizing as soon as one looked ill, but it didn't stop it. I threw every med at it that I could find and nothing worked. Very frustrating, whatever it was. Management just shrugged and told me to check my parameters... ...that boy was in diapers when I started fishkeeping.
They did look sick for a long time before dying though, so I don't think that's the case here. Certainly hope not! Good luck with the rest.

Jun 30th 2007, 01:58 PM
I certainly hope not! But thanks for the tip. I gotta stop buying from stores, but it's really hard not to. Of course, whatever they brought in seems gone, but I still dont' know and i'm just crossing my fingers, but they look good right now.. wish me luck!

It's amazing how fish can hide but I like your term of reference... from now on when I can't see one of my fish, I'll just assume he or she is on vacation.:;):
