When thieves robbed the Salvation Army Warehouse of $25,000 in teen toys, they bought themselves a special corner in the devil's domain, but they didn't win the war. Radio stations, competitors and affiliates alike, are joining together on December 9th to find enough toys to replace those stolen and are proving once again that the good people still outnumber the bad.

Thursday morning, thieves broke into a Salvation Army warehouse on Vancouver's east side and stole $25,000 worth of goods destined for teenage kids this Christmas.

Show your support by dropping off a new unwrapped toy for a teen or make a cash donation at the News1130, JACK FM and fm 104.9 studios at 2440 Ash Street from 6am to 6pm on Tuesday. Or drop your toy donation at these other locations:

-Salvation Army at 128 Cordova Street East, Vancouver
-Visions Electronics at 8062 King George Highway in Surrey
-Real Canadian Superstore on Grandview Highway at Rupert Street in Vancouver

JACK FM will also be collecting at Metropolis at Metrotown (on the main floor under the Food Court), in Burnaby.

Cash donations can also be made any time here (http://www.salvationarmy.ca/). ~ News 1130 (http://www.news1130.com/news/topstory/article.jsp?content=20081205_195405_7492)

If you happen across someone selling teen electronics or the like from their trunk, do me a fave & call him a pathetic loser before you punch him out... then tell him he's lucky I didn't find him first :realmad: .

My Son is kicking in some of his hard earned money, which I'm matching for a replacement gift. If anyone has teens this is a great opportunity to bring home how lucky they are. He first thought of games to donate. I asked him "How many of the latest game players do you figure struggling people have sweety?" They really have no clue unless we inspire the thought process.

Why is it that heartless thieves seem to see the generosity of others, who wish to give to those who are less fortunate than themselves, as just anther opportunity to take what isn't theirs?!

They recovered some of it, so I'm hoping that means they snagged the theives.

I heard on the news earlier today that they have now recovered about 50% of the toys but have made no arrests yet.

Here's the kicker, they discovered a bunch of it because of honour among thieves. It even PO'ed those on the dark side so they brought in a truckload to the RCMP.
