Last year and this an aquarium in Japan is lighting up a Christmas tree using the power from an electric eel. Here's a video (http://www.reuters.com/news/video?videoId=72584&videoChannel=4) of the eel and his tree and an explanation of how it works by the fellow who came up with the idea.
