This is a blessing in disguise, that roof is so grimy on the inside from years of exhaust fumes. It would be an embarrassment to have the olympic opening ceremony in that place as it was.
If I were a conspiracy nut;) I'd almost say that since the stadium is a big money drain, maybe someone shifty sabotaged the roof so that the government would help chip in for a new one out of their bottomless olympic fund...

While our hospitals are turning people away & people die on surgery waiting lists and our schools can't afford teachers to a point where they combine grades. And let's not forget the fun of having our prices go up even higher than the outrageous level they're at now....
But hey, we'll be on international TV & our politicians can cut ribbons & stuff!!!!!!

:err: We'll still be paying for all this for years to come, I'm sure. Look at Montreal's 1976 Summer games. Quebec just paid off their debt for it this past December (30 years after the games:swoon:)!

According to the news, they've found more damage to the roof. Looks like they're getting their new one for the Olympics after all. They said it happened after Friday's windstorm - we've never had storms before this year? All inspections have been just fine.... I'm starting to buy into Mr. SB's conspiracy theory.:wideeyed:

Well, it sounds as if they're hoping the get the roof re-inflated by Wednesday (at least that's what they're saying accroding to News1130:

LOL I've never heard it described quite like this before. The National Post (http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/story.html?id=05706eb1-6cb4-4e69-abc5-7ba0ac9ddbc0) says "Looking once again like a plump marshmallow in bondage, the inflatable roof of BC Place is back in place."
X-Rated film at 11?

That's priceless... wonder who thought that line up?:twitcy:
I feel for those guys who had to work on that roof in this weather to make it happen in time for the upcoming trade show.
