I have one Platy in my community (15g) tank. It has a sponge filter and air pump. The pH always seems to remain at 6.0.
In a smaller (5g) tank, are a couple tetras and a bio wheel filter that I think is too big for the tank; the water moves quite briskly but the pH is always nearly perfectly neutral (7.0).
I am now wondering if I should put the Platy in the smaller tank. Would he prefer the more neutral water, even though the current is more swift? Or is he happier in water that is more calm, even though the pH is lower?
