I've been taking care of a neighbors fish while he is away on tour. Apparently he's decided to give his tank to his brother and his L177's to me. I have to go and pick up the other 2 tomorrow. They are lousy pictures and pretty pale from stress but I'm excited. I always wanted golden nuggets!

You asking me how many pleco's I have would be like me asking you how many livebearers you have. :twitcy:

Translation-I have no idea how many lol.

Gold Nuggets are beautiful... I couldn't help thinking about you when I was admiring one at Pacific Aquatics today (reminding myself I have no room for more fish)...glad to see they the rest of them arrived.

Now, tell me exactly how you explained that those L264 Sultans followed you home  ... a cat or a dog he might believe, but fish? :nah:

They were a trade, I don't have to explain trades. Its when money is leaving the bank account that I have to explain. Plus he is away and by the time he gets home it'll be the standard answer. 'Those? Those aren't new, I've had those foreverrrrr!' They were just in a diferent tank. :spinny: Some women use that for clothes and jewlery, I use it for fish. :twitcy:

...poor guy... you've got it all figured out. I'm no good a sexing plecos (except for BN's because the males get a full face of bristles). Do you have both males and females of the Gold Nuggets and the Sultans?... and are you planning to breed them?

There's not a lot of reported breeding info on the nuggets. They are going into what will be a community 90 gallon tank if I start filling my tanks with something other then catfish.

The sultans I believe I have at least one female if not two and 2 males, I've always wanted sultans so I jumped when the opportunity presented itself to pick them up. I do hope to breed them I think they'be be stunning in a large colony. I'll snap some better photo's when they are out of qt and upstairs. :)

How big do these pretty pleco's get? And are they very territorial?

I'm 90% positive they areL081's rather then L177's which is what they were sold to my neighbor as. There are three different types of golden nuggets, the L#'s represent what parts of the river they come from.

So far mine are pretty mellow and I haven't seen much agression. That being said I have many caves and pieces of driftwood for them to choose from/claim and they are the only fish in a 55 gallon tank so they have a lot of space.
