Does anyone know if Amano shrimp would be safe to add to a tank with guppy fry? I have an algae outbreak on my moss in my guppy fry tank and was thinking of adding some shrimp to help. Would they leave the fry alone? Thanks for your help!

I just realized I posted this in the marine section - could a mod move it to the freshwater section for me? Thanks!!

Moved. And to answer your question, I have seen full grown (2-3") Amano shrimp attack, kill and eat smaller fish before. If they are small it will probably be OK. If you don't want to take the chance then maybe consider some Red Cherry Shrimp.

Thanks, I guess that answers my question. I guess I'll wait until the fry have grown and then tackle the problem.

Hmmm... there blows my algae plan. I have heard that Cherry Shrimp are good too though.
