Well I got my eggs. 50 Nothobranchius eggersi Rufiji River Camp TAN 95-7 and Nothobranchius rachovii Beira 98! Quite excited about hatching these guys and raising them as they are such beautiful fish. I haven't had any Notho's in a couple years now.

That's neat and exciting. How long will they take to hatch?

Well the Rachovii are ready to be "wetted" right away, I will probably do this on Thursday as I am going out of town tomorrow night and my wife forgets to feed the fish sometimes. The eggs should start hatching within a few hours of being placed in water and they should all hatch within a couple days.

Well some of the Rachovii are eyed up already and looking good so hopefully the eggs are still decent.

What is the temperature range that the eggs have to be stored at to remain viable?

Nothobranchius are more cold sensitive than Aphyosemions - they come from savannah waters where the sun shines right into the water. General wisdom puts a minimum temperature in the 25 range, but 28-29 is better. A lot of breeders store the eggs in chicken egg incubators, or homemade versions of the same. Keeping them warm is generally a serious issue. However, they can survive some cold for very short terms.
You can incubate many Aphyosemion killies at 18 degrees. Guess why I don't keep annuals.
Killiejoe, you're a desperate killie keeper to buy Notho eggs at this time of year. I know that impatient feeling... I hope it works out.

Haha yes I am, it has just been so long for me since I have kept any killifish. The eggs are eyed up and looking good. I am going to wet them tomorrow and see how things work out. I too prefer non annuals such as Aphyosemion and Fundulopanchax but I do love the colour of male Nothobranchius as well. I am really looking forward to warmer weather now thanks to Gary.
