I think this is such a fantastic idea! Not all 'unfixed' cats are in bad homes. Many are in low income homes, barn cats, etc. You might say that those who cannot afford to care for their pets, including having them spayed or neutered, shouldn't have them... yadda yadda yadda - life isn't always sunshine & roses, nor is it predictable.

Ca-r-ma (http://www.ca-r-ma.org) provides medical care, spays & neuters stray & feral cats, which are then returned to their owners. In seven years, the offspring of one pair of cats can produce as many as 420,000 cats!

We started as a small group of three dedicated people that got together for
the first time in 2005 in the attempt to save one little cat. Since then, we have
continued our work and grown into a registered Charity with groups in New
Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

We strive to improve the lives of the homeless cats around us. While our
immediate goal is to get medical care to those animals that would normally not
receive such help, namely stray-, barn- and feral cats, our long-term goal is to
assist low income pet owners regarding the spaying & neutering of their
felines.

At this early point, we are still in need of basically everything: volunteers,
donations and supplies. If you want to contribute or provide us with feedback,
please get in touch with us through our contact (http://www.ca-r-ma.org/cu.html) form. We will answer as soon
as we can - mostly within 24 hours.

I've never heard of programs that return these animals to otherwise good homes/environments. If anyone knows of something similar in their area, by all means post.

Wow, awesome. The dedication of some people to improve the lives of others (and animals) never ceases to impress me.
