Family:Nothobranchiidae
Origin:In Africa found in Southeastern Nigeria and Southwestern Cameroon
Adult size:5cm or 2 inches
Tank Specs
Minimum Tank Size:2.5-5 gallons
Water Parameters (PH/GH/KH): PH of 6-6.5 (will tolerate a bit higher) and DH of 1-6 (but will also accept a bit higher)
Temperature:22-24 C or 72-75 F
Special Requirements:Suitable Tankmates:Will live peacefully with other peaceful fish of same size
Minimum Group Size:Pair or Trio but can also be kept in groups
Diet:Will consume commercial food but much more apt to take live foods
Sexing:Males are more colorful and have longer fins.
Breeding and Reproduction:Breeding is similar to other Aphyosemion, the fish will lay their eggs in plant thickets or spawning mops and will hatch after about ten days to two weeks. Fry should be fed small foods such as vinegar eels and then moved on to baby brine shrimp. This fish will spawn better with an increase in temperature.

Notes:It is noted that some people have had success breeding this fish in a species tank that is heavily planted as well as with the methods of using spawning mops and then removing spawning mops and placing them in a hatch tank.
