Ok so round 7.45 or so pm we lost our shaw services....took me an hour of waiting on hold before I finally accepted their call back feature and another hour before I managed to speak with a human....turns out weather took out service to many customers in different areas and I was told it may be a long and boring night. I settled in to bed with a book, no big deal haven't read a good book in months so it was kind of nice to just shut the tube and computer off for a night without having to pry the remote from hubby's cold dead hands .
Round 2am, I'm still up and I hear noises outside, dog starts barking so I look out the window and see that a Shaw van is parked outside and one of the techs is working in the (-)degree weather trying to get this area back up and running. Cool! (I kinda felt like running a cup of hot chocolate out to the guy LOL.)
Anyways 2:15 he drives away and I rush to the computer to check and see if it works.....YIPPEEE YIPP YIPP YIPEEE!!!! ok now the t.v. HOLY MOTHER OF ....:err:
....well you get the idea...
I can't believe how clear the picture is, yes that's right clear picture, it's like we've been watching half the service at full price for the last 4 years of living here. No more bars streaking across channel 2, no more fuzzies dancing merrily on channel 18, heck even 42 was crystal clear and 42 has never ever worked properly in this house no matter what t.v we've tried it on, yet all the times that I've called Shaw to complain and they sent someone out it was always MY t.v's fault or the wiring INSIDE my house...very interesting.....Who the heck needs HDTV when all one needs is a good connection lol.
Ok now we move on to the internet....
I have Shaw "light speed". In all other places I have ever lived it has worked well enough that I could never really tell the diff between the light and what they claim to be their "High speed" version so I've always stuck with "light speed" why pay double for the same crappy service I figure. Well HOLY MOTHER OF...:err:
ya....apparently I've been paying $24.99 for $14.99 worth of service because after that nice Shaw man left, I could barely keep up with the pages flicking by on the screen....AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT! OH! and another thing I noticed...my browser is miraculously not timing out every 2 secs on every second page...what's that all about?!?!?!?!
Downloads you say? YOU BETCHA!! I was able to download the latest version of ZA faster than I was able to pour a cup of coffee, first version took me so long I was able to do a load of laundry and take the dog out for a pee.....
It's a conspiracy! A CONSPIRACY I tell ya!:POed:
