Yes I'm a :GEEK: LOL.

Lately over the last month or so I've been immersing myself in weather, climate and natural occurances like Earthquakes and such. I seem to go on these quests for knowledge during the winter blues when I'm stuck at home and have nothing to do other than surf the net, play with my critters or eat myself out of house and home(could be a natural disaster on it's own).

Anyways for anyone who is interested in this kind of stuff, I've found some neat websites recently :D

The first is my fave......

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/

This one lists off Earthquakes around the world that happened as recently as within the last hour...some of the info is actually kind of scary, although most thoughts of natural disasters are LOL.

The second one is pretty good also but just deals with Canadian tremors :)

This next site, although a pay site still allows you to catch the drift on many global happenings throughout without having to pay and when something catches my eye, I simply google the event and can usually find a free source for the info.

http://www.earthchangesmedia.com/

The last site and one of those things that are always left to wonder about are prophecies, whether real or fictional there's always someone out there predicting something. I'm not sure if I read much into any of it, but it is still somewhat of an interesting read.
This website deals with many other topics, some include the biblical and others include the Astronomical and Scientific, you can literally get lost in there for hours because every page lists links to other readings of interest. It's actually a very good site overall, you just have to pick and choose your topics of interest and not get sidetracked every 2 mins like I did lol.

Anyhow, enjoy!

Thanks for the links. Geology has always held a fascination for me. I particularly like the site on Canadian earthquakes. Interesting stuff. We here on the West Coast often tend to forget that other areas of the country can be hit by earthquakes as well. The US one is great too in that it gives us a global view.

Yes, when you are relating to the resident hermit crab, you definitly need a life and quite possibly professional help.

Inspiration! I'll design a mug with a play on a dog saying....

"The more I hang out with people, the more I like my fish."

:D

LOL
Mine would be "The more I hang out with people the more I like being alone"

Although some human interaction is unfortunately necessary....at least until I can teach my dog to go get me milk and eggs, give foot rubs, mix me a stiff drink and talk me out of eating that donut, everything else can pretty much be mail ordered
