I have 5 Paradise fish (3m/2f), a number of Rainbowfish, Gourami and Angelfish in my 90 gal. community tank. In the last couple of days, 2 of the male Paradise have been building bubble nests together. The one they had built last night was very impressive, about 10 cm across and 5 cm deep. These 2 male would display to each other, do a modified version of breeding and go back to blowing bubbles. One tended the nest more than the other and the 2nd guarded more. He would chase away the male Gourami, the 3rd male and the female Paradises. He didn't seem concerned when the Angels or the Rainbowfish came by. The larger of the female Paradise is paled out but they haven't been displaying or trying to entice her. I am not interested in raising another spawn at this time so not concerned about this. I am amazed at their working together on building a nest!
