Will there be a similar auction next spring at London? I intend to try to attend the ALA convention in Detroit and if I can fit it in I would love to go to London too. It seems to me that last time I travelled to London it was not too far from Detroit, maybe a few hours away. I would not want to cross into Canada with fish from the ALA get together but crossing into the US might be an easy one for me. "Declared value" of auction fish would naturally be what I paid, not what they might be worth retail in the US. How the heck could the US authorities disagree with actual prices paid as the value after all? Even if I didn't correct for exchange rates, the prices that I spend at an auction usually come in at under $100.
I am not cheap, I am thrifty. LOL

LOL Well I don't think your taxes would be the issue, but the fish might be. Going into the US is much more strict so give them a call before you do it.

Get Pam to bid on them and give them to you as a gift. If you feel the need to pay her when you get home so your wife doesn't get jealous about strange Canadians giving you fish, so be it. :WhoMe: Otherwise, it's based on what you paid.

Am trying for pics.

Not sure if anyone here went and sold anything, but if so, did anyone sell the shrimps? I got a bonus baby fish and want to know what I've got. It's most likely a guppy, but could be an endlers (P. wingei).

I wouldn't be in the least surprised if you did. You can place some 'wanted' ad's in the Livebearer Trader if you're an ALA member, then arrange to pick them up at the convention. ::D: Joel Healy is looking after the Trader now and you can find him at Livebearers.org. The ALA members have been very good to me and I've never felt like any less of a member being in Canada.
