If preparing preparing food for your fish from recipes isn't for you (seems like too much work), you can still provide them with fresh veggies with very little extra effort.

When I steam vegetables for myself such as broccoli or bok choy, just before serving myself (or after dinner), I take a small amount, head to the tank and serve it to my fish and snails. They love it!

If it's bok choy, I chop it up finely. If it's broccoli, I just break off small flowerettes (no larger than 1 in x 1/2 in) and drop them into the tank. My fish will love to tear off the individual buds as it sinks and then continue to feast as it sits on the bottom (tearing even the stem apart devouring it in its entirety).

Lotsa creatures like vegies, from Shrimp to Livebearers to Cichlids. Just be sure to fish out any uneaten parts, but with mine that's never a concern...lol. Boil as little as possible - they're better for you with less boiling too.

Kids LOVE to donate their vegies to the fishies. Such generous little darlings.;)

That's priceless! (A fishy variation of slipping the food to the dog waiting under the table.)
