A tad early I know, but I market to people who shop by ordering so its very close from my point of view...lol.

Here's a tidbit...

The amount spent is amazing really - people really go all out. Do you?

I've never liked the commercial aspect, as is the entire holiday, but I do like it as a day to express how much you care about someone - why not? The kid makes me stuff and that's what I enjoy. But then I'm wierd anyway - I'd be far more touched if a guy stopped on the way home from work to pick me wild roses than if he paid $60 for a dozen at a flourist. I'd prefer that he do it for no reason at all, not because the calendar said he had to.

I do buy some though - treats for the kids in my life. I just can't resist that. Were I in a realationship, I would much prefer a candlelight dinner of take-out at home to going out to a restaurant. I'd be happy with pizza. :D

Cheap date ... if a bit of a pain....lol.

My wife and no longer do anything on Valentines day anymore.
Everywhere is to busy/noisy.
Instead, we go out together the weekend after Valentines and make weekend of it, get a room at a nice hotel (some years we leave town, some we stay in the city), go to some kind of a show ( my wife loves live entertainment ) .
Basically we make a mini vacation out of it.

The president of our company goes all out for most major holidays. All the girls in the office receive presents and we are having a catered lunch. As a company we like having excuses to celebrate. Birthdays, Christmas, Babies...We like to party!

Change what you think needs changing, but the essence that is you is something to be valued. You're too young to be concerned about it quite yet, although if I recall correctly, that doesn't really matter at the time ;) .

You'll find that as people age their priorities change. After they're all done dating Joe for his looks and Ron for his wallet, they'll find out how miserable that can make them and start looking for deeper qualities.

On online dating... it's true you never really know who your talking to until you meet them. But some good news Corbin, two of my friends got married to the guys they met online!
