Gee I'll be glad when the Government recognizes that perhaps people who can be cruel to animals are also perfectly capable of hurting humans. Like people who can do this to a living creature are normal? But they'll get a fine and a lecture and that's about it. Somebody should chain them to a barrel behind a barn for a Winter.

Ya I dont have much sympathy for people who are neglectful or cruel to animals. When I was growing up my best friends dad was a vet and he was a good one for teaching the right way of treating an animal.

Oddly it really just boils down to how do u want to be treated? Funny that eh?

Maybe one day they'll toughen up the rules...course I think that first people need to understand that any life is worth the same as any other life.. any idea that were worth more is just all ego.

I like how you think.

A huge petition just went to Ottawa, inspired by an unspeakable act of random violence against animals in Didsbury, AB. My name is on it via e-mail after I checked to make sure the story was legit. You can still sign it here:

Just signed it again in case the e-mail version didn't make it back to her. It was in our local paper, The Province, that I read the petition was headed to Ottawa, but more can be sent later. The goal is 10,000 sig's - that translates to 10,000 voters to politicians.

I didn't fill out all of the information that the site asked for and it still went through. Its always a good idea to have a 'junk e-mail' address set up for these things, just in case. I use a Yahoo address. Hotmail also has a good, free web-based e-mail. You can also choose to only have your name on the petition but not displayed publicly on the site.

Maybe it will work, maybe it won't, but it only took a minute of my time to try.
