Do you dive? Travelling to Florida? Are you curious about what types of fish you might see? Here's a database about which (of 129 species of) fish can be found at a number of artificial reefs in Florida. The date and number seen are documented (so looking at the data, who knows, you might try to plan to increase your odds of seeing certain species.
It's too bad the database only documents fish species numbers and dates seen and doesn't include photos. Now that would be really cool.

came pretty close, too close, to what I think was a moray eel in a cuban reef when I was younger; did not enjoy the experience! If I ever dive again I'll be wearing a knife in case. I'm pretty sure there's some off the coast of florida too

Quite the contrast to your fire eel, eh?

stick your hand in a crack, and you don't get it back... "thats a Moray"....
Dove in many oceans, warm water is nice, but I think B.C. waters are the most exilarating,
I'd prefer to see a wolf eel, however it is not an eel at all. Never dove with sharks, but I've certainly found Barracuda to be quite scary, and large.
no matter where you go, its great to take your own snorkel package with you, and snorkel from shore at low tide.
are you planning a holiday Jay??

 ... just don't let that happen. :wideeyed:
I didn't know you were into diving, Don. I always think it must be a fascinating experience. However, I'm not comfortable enough in water to want to do it. However, I love to hear of others' e experiences and see underwater photos of the many facinating creatures to be discovered by those who do dive.
Any place you'd recommend as a 'must see' for any divers visiting BC?

well, I certainly never got to all the best spots, I think around Vancouver Island is probably some of the best diving. Most of my local diving was done in the Jervis Inlet, and Porpoise Bay, Scookumchuck Narrows is a very cool spot at slack tide. Anywhere that there is a good Tidal Exchange.
I have'nt been an active Diver for years, the sport is quite dangerous, and after my wife got her dive ticket, well, it seemed to get more dangerous.
