Am I missing something because I can't see any stats for this site. Please help me I just want to see how many active members and all the other stats forums show. Hope i'm not asking to much for a newbie but I have lots of questions. please forgive my ignorance but I'm just learning this forum stuf

The stats we show are listed in What's Going On? at the bottom of the home page. You can see the number of members by clicking Members List on the menu.

What's Going On only show's who is online currently. Is that all the stat you show for the site?
Just wondering how many active members because you do have lots of members and it's very impressive.

'Active' member counts you see on sites are rather meaningless numbers. They can be anything from the number of members who've logged in over the past 6 months, the past year, 2 years, etc. or posts or whatever the administration decides to base the 'Active Member' stats on. Why bother? It's no measure of the community or the content of a site. A member can log in only occasionally but can contribute a wealth of information when he/she does, or someone can log in every day and contribute a lot or nothing. Hence we don't bother conjuring up some meaningless formula to post an 'Active Member Count'.

If other forums feel the need to display number counts for whatever reason, that's their prerogative. Here at CAC we'd rather focus our energies on providing quality content for our members and maintaining a friendly relaxed atmosphere with something for everyone (from newbie to the advanced aquarist).

I think that applies to most of us. :laugh: We contribute what and when we can.
