Having recently acquired some of Pam's Critter Crumbs, I did a little test with some Z. tequilas. Prior to receiving them I tried two different types of sinking wafer,
which for the most part went ignored and had to be removed from the tank.

The Critter Crumbs were a different story.-

These guys are my favorite to watch at feeding time, and were knocking each other about to get a taste.-

Glad to hear and see that they are enjoying them.

Those Z. tequilas have good taste. Very pretty colony you have there.

They remind me of amecas a little. Are they peaceful?
Adding them to my list of livebearers to breed.

Very nice pictures! I should've had you take some shots of my fish while you were here, I wasn't thinking. :)

Thanks for the comments guys.
I haven't noticed any real aggression with them yet, but have read they can get that way.
I have provided lots of cover in the tank, and maybe that's helping. I've been meaning to speak with Gary about this.
They seem to be a hardy fish, and is a shame their natural environment was destroyed. I was planning on setting up a tank at my brothers school this fall, but will wait until I'm 100% confident with my care of them.

I should add the previous sinking food offered was store bought brand name.
Omega One actually. Was a little surprised they didn't go for them.

As is always the case when I open any type of package, Brandy stares expectantly.
That bag really caught her eye, would there be any problem with her trying some?

I haven't put my Critter Crumb loving tequilas in with other species (mine go nuts for them too), but when I first found them in a pet store a few years ago, they were in with other fish and no one was showing as much as a nipped fin. They're goodeids, which means they can handle themselves in rough company, but I don't see this Goodeid as being chippy like Amecas can be.
I like keeping them in single species tanks because they have neat behavior as is.
My Chapalychthys pardalis (who, weirdly, don't like critter crumbs:frown:) are in with some nezahualcoyotl, and there has been no trouble. They eat the fry of other species, but not their own. And pardalis seem to be much aggressive among themselves than tequilas are. They chase each other and bash each other around a lot more. That being said, I wouldn't classify them as aggressive - it's just relative to the very gentle tequilas.

Layton they are fine for Brandy, I give mine to Kelsey the odd time and the cat.

Pam, I will have to get a sample of these fantastic treats sometime soon for my own fishy friends... they sound amazing! :D
