You'd think it would be a no-brainer, but some people will do anything for their little darlings I guess.

Once again an animal movie is expected to result in impulse buying, this time of Guinea Pigs. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't ultimately end up in shelters or released to perish in the wild.

If you are not willing to commit to providing 8 years of humane care to a Guinea Pig, don't buy a Guinea Pig. No matter how much they howl and whine and throw tantrums, don't buy a Guinea Pig. It's easy - think of it as teaching them a lesson that you, as the adult, should already know - a pet is not a possession, it is a responsibility. I'm going to say it nice and slowly this time so you can't somehow miss the point and justify it: DON'T BUY THE GUINEA PIG.

Thank you.

Maybe the movie simply sparked an interest. You did your research and still want to commit to loving a Guinea Pig with all of your tender heart, by all means do so. Please check with your local shelters first as there will be lots of them available I'm sure.

Thank you again.
