Amazing isn't it? Here's the CNN link (http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science/01/24/shark.japan.reut/index.html). The video is the same one. But you can see more more pics by clicking the Photo Gallery link.
You can also find more info on this species here (http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fishfacts/fish/cangu.htm)

I think it's really cool. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but it brings to mind the 'Loch Ness Monster'. Although Loch Ness is freshwater, one tends to wonder is there is a rare creature similar to this living in the depths and maybe its extremely rare venture towards the surface if what people have seen. :twitcy: Who knows!

I get what you mean by the nessy ref. Back where I grew up there'd been stories of a "monster" in the lake. Been stories going way way back. Everyone laughed till one summer day right down on the beach where everyone could see it and the paper caught pictures of it something surfaced. :wideeyed:
The thing was huge, real huge. much bigger than anything that should have been in the freshwater lake.

After checking the images that were snapped by pretty much the whole town the verdict came in on what it was....Sturgeon... real big old white sturgeon!
How a Sturgeon made its way to lake in Northern ON is still kinda a mystery.

I don't think that even half the people who spread monster rumours actually believe there's a monster there. Its more a way to describe an unknown.

What's funny is how so many people who believed it, will suddenly say "I suspected it aaaaaallllll along" when its proven to be a perfectly normal creature.
