After the morning feeding, mine and the fish, I decided to try to get a few shots of my fish. Out of about 100 these seemed to turn out the best.

Trying to get a decent picture of my Hets and Endlers is like trying nail jello to a wall with one hand

Here is what I've got so far .....

One of my Orange Tail Goodieds, aka the great snail hunter .

The Platties, you can really see the scratches in the tanks in this one.

A Ghost shrimp swims by ....

There's one of the Crystal Reds having breakfast

There's a soon to be proud father .

And there's the soon to be mommy.

A shot of the Velvet swords, waiting for their Quarentine days to be over.

Another picture of the swords .

I'm guessing the Black Mollies didn't have time to clean up for the pictures, they didn't want to come out.

One of the Ameca Splenden fry wondering what all the fuss is about.

I'll try for a few more later, got to get on with the day right now.

Blaine.

Beautiful fishies! I have to get around to getting my pictures up one of these days.

One of the few aquarium Molly strains that I kept when I decided to go with wild-type Mollies only, was a Silver (white) Sailfin Lyre Molly strain, which has the wild-type sky blue highlights. I call it Silver Sky and it appears to be true-breeding now but I have to test a couple more generations. Always loved the Sailfin Lyres - the more elaborate the finnage, the more I like the fish.

Thanks for posting - can't wait to see more! I can see some trades in our future :) .

Yup, been there. Lookin for more Goodieds, they're pretty rare around here.

I'm working on it ;-).

Personally, Goodeids.com doesn't do much for me. Its ok for beginners, but I find more reliable information through a few old-time breeders that I know. I don't like to rely on what any ol' Joe Blow posts when it comes to such special fishies. You can't exactly run down to Petsmart for more.

I really like them as well. This morning I found a very pregnant one. She had so many eggs in her swimmerets I don't know how she held them all in. Now I'm hoping for a successful delivery of those eggs.

There's a shot of Phase 2 , lots to do there yet.

The Cana Snail and Quaratine tanks.

A couple of the Canas

Not a great shot, but a couple of Cherry Red shrimp gazing on a rock.

Another poor pic, thats the pregnant Crystal Red shrimp

It seems like the smaller the critter, the harder it is to get a decent picture of them.

I'm getting quite excited, looks like I'm going to have a population explosion soon.
I know for sure I have one Cherry Red and one Crystal Red carrying eggs, my oldest female Redwag Platty is ready to pop, she's huge, I've never seen her this big before and she's given me plenty of fry already.
My Black and Silver Mollie females and Endler females have big round bellies.

Livebearers, the gift that keeps giving and giving and giving and...........

Thanks for posting the pics. 'Phase 2' looks like a lot of work. And when you're done, is there going to be a 'Phase 3' ? I'm sure there would be if you could find the space.

Oh, I know all about that (started with 6 myself... lost count a long time ago. ;) )
Red Wags are one of my favorite! Don't forget to post pics of the babies... they're always so cute.

I can see some spare room in the corner there, plenty of phase three potential!

There is lots of potential for phase three and four, all I need is to have my son get the rest of his stuff out to his new home, lots more time and money. ;)

You should reserve that upper tank that's by the window for snails - they'll love the algae, as will the Shrimpies.

I think there's still room in there for my handy dandy roll-a-way bed. Maybe I'll deliver your order personally and never leave. Wouldn't that be fun?!

Blaine? BLAINE?!

Well that's funny, he was just here a minute ago....

The female Silver Lyertail Mollie popped out a brood of babies today, not sure how many, 5 or 6 for sure, they keep darting in and out of the Hornwort. :)

A Molly? Producing 5 or 6?

Get to work on those tanks Blaine, there is always more to a Livebearer tank than meets the eye....

Well, looks like 8 fry for sure, maybe more, everytime I think I got them all, another one wanders out of the plants. Then comes the debate, did I already count that one or not.

If it is 8 , I'll be happy with that. This is her first drop, I'll see how she does in a month or so.

Its kinda like that 'before kids' thing... I keep asking myself "What did I do with myself before I got into fish?"

How old are you? Remember the song...

Countin' shadows on the wall
It don't bother me at all
Playing Solitaire 'till dawn
With a deck of 51
Smokin' cigarettes
And watching Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me
I've nothin' to do....

Could easily be adapted, yes? ;)
