nope, its not 7... you are going by the divide watts by gallons rule, which only works for tanks 20gallons and up.
In smaller tanks (such as my 5gal) you have to do something like find the volume in square inches, and divde by the amount of lumens produced by by each bulb.
Never really done it though, not even sure if it is right, lol.
WPG is probably under 3. :chatterbox: ... enough of that boring stuff!
Hehe, i am a planted tank geek...

lol, this tank is more about the plants... but the fish is in there somewhere,,, he has been sick lately... and wont come out of hiding alot... really skinny... but not internal paracites, thinking maybe the end of his lifecycle...
here is an old pic of Hampster, the dwarf pufferfish....

my dwarf puffer died a day after the rescape.... at least he got a little bit of time to enjoy it :(
I am going to start breeding shrimp and pygmy cories in here now.

Ah, that's too bad. :( It's always hard to lose when you lose a fish. However, I see you already have plans in place for new things. I'm sure the new occupants will appreciate your aquascaping.

I'm sorry to hear about the Puffer. Any idea what went wrong?:hugs:
The new breeding program will make you feel better - sounds like a good plan!

My guess is Internanale Parasires because i saw these little white worms everywhere before he died. I added some pimafix to kill the ones. There is only an oto in there now which i will move. I am getting three pygmy cories at first, then i'm getting three more. I am getting 10 shrimp in the spring, gunna ask for them for my birthday :)

Little white worms all over the quarium is usually Planaria. They don't hurt the fish directly, but they do indicate a problem with the tank that can hurt the fish. Chances are you're over feeding, which is easy to do in a small tank. Cut way back on the food & do lots of good gravel vac's. Best way to get rid of the worms is to bleach out the tank & start over. Pimafix won't do it, unfortunately.

well, i really dont want to take apart the tank. all of my parameters are awsome. There was a while there when i put in a huge chunk of bloodworm for the puffer, and didnt take it out for about a week because i was bust with exams... that probably caused it. But everything is better and no more little white worms, i think. I tested right after i found the fish dead, and everything was fine... anyways, the point is i cant start over, lol.
