to hear Ontario has finally taken back our weather from you.
We are officially having winter.
Snowing everyday this week and cold.

And I was really enjoying your weather.

Well, you didn't really expect to escape winter entirely, did you? After a few soggy warm days here on the west coast, we've got sunshine and cooler temps... dropping down just below freezing at night. But nothing like what you're dealing with. The only thing with the nighttime lows dipping below the freezing mark is that when the next storm blows in we risk getting more of that 'white stuff'... Yuck! It only belongs on the mountains and in Ontario! (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Let's hope all of us get an early spring.

:( :P
Last night was nasty for driving, had to pick my daughter up 1/2 hr from our house. Here it was not too bad here but the next two towns were miserable just about slid through three intersections, no ice just snow. Thank god for abs and 4 wheel drive. Of course not a sander or plough to be seen. Hubby is away snowmobiling so could even send him.
Today it is above 0 again and everything is melting so if it turns cold over night we are going to have a mess tomorrow.

CACAdmin
Jan 27th 2007, 06:13 PM
I hope it stays above 0 tonight for your sake. Otherwise everything becomes a skating rink. That's the scenerio we usually deal with here whenever we get snow. (It usually keeps dipping above and below the freezing mark.) It it turns cold overnight, I hope you can stay home (or at least off the roads) tomorrow.

Be careful out there Pam!

Mr. CACAdmin - send that poor girl her longjohns back!

Pamelajo
Jan 27th 2007, 10:17 PM
Thanks Mel. Just have to take Steph to work five minutes down the street. Tank cleaning day tomorrow, so that should keep me indoors for a couple of hours.
Yes those longjohns would come in handy now.
Mel Dad's wife has a website now with some pics of the farm/horses. It is still under construction so the links on the page are not working yet.
Here is the address if you want to take a look:

What? you want them back? But what if it gets cold here again? I'll freeze. :Holiday-1::nah: OK. Maybe not but I'm a wimp... anything below 5C is too cold!
BTW, nice pics of your Dad's place... but from the looks of it, if you visit again this winter you just might need those longjohns. :Holiday-1:

Drive safely tomorrow!

I don't suppose he'd leave his wife for me? LOL That's just where I'm going to end up one of these days. Nice hobby ranch in the middle of nowhere, me & an internet connection.

Absolutely beautiful and she's doing a nice job on the site too. Thanks for passing the link along - made me homesick but I truly enjoyed it  .

Okay I have had enough of snow now. Today ended up going into work and then had to come home to take Steph work and take myself back to work. Very slippery has not stopped snowing all day. And the next 2 days is calling for more.
I really regretting giving you back your weather.

Of course you're not old, or that would make me middle aged, which cannot be the case.

Yup, I had to hold a box due to your weather in fact. Its supposed to warm up by Wednesday though so I can ship tomorrow. By the time it gets to Ontario it will have warmed up  .

O/T, but while I'm thinking of it, what are your temp limits for heat packs? The belly of a plane gets so much colder in the air and the boxes are often outside at night waiting to be loaded so I don't like to ship at anything below -10 to -15. Even then I either use huge ones or double them up. Some people in the States have a limit of -5 but that pretty much rules out Canadian Winter shipping all together...lol.

this past may i recently moved back to lethbridge, alberta after spending 2 yrs in owen sound ontario.
i must say the 4" of snow i have to shovel here is pretty welcoming compared to when i was in ontario and having to shovel 4ft of snow out of my driveway just to go to work.
1 thing is for sure, now being landlocked, come summer im sure going to miss Wasaga beach.

You'll be glad your not there now, they have got a ton of snow. Kids out of school for a week.
My Dad lives in Hanover which is not too far from there. I was born in Collingwood, but am now near Niagara Falls.

OUCH! I know, Ms. Pamelajo, I had that coming. I just couldn't resist. It's a good thing, I'm on the other side of the country or you might be tossing snowballs... or worse... maybe even chunks of ice at me. UC, I can't give my sister a bad time, she's decided to depart shortly for Florida to escape the frigid Ontario winter.

I went for a walk around the neighborhood. Do I dare tell you that (although nothing is in bloom yet of course), the daffodils and tulips are up (ranging 3-5 inches in height)... spring is just around the corner. :BOLTS:

Just got home awhile ago from my nephew's hockey game and can't get warm, Heat is at 72 and I am sitting here with a big turtleneck sweater, jeans and my big fuzzy housecoat on.
Talked to Dad today and they have 1 metre of snow. One of the horses walked over the top rail of the pasture. He was the only brave enough to venture out that far. The rest have been hanging out in the run in.
CAC that would mean I would have to leave the house again. I could send the snowballs in dry ice to Mel and have her throw them at you

Melody
Feb 10th 2007, 08:17 PM
lol The word 'husband' cools them down faster than snow any day... well... most of them anyway

Sheesh! :wideeyed: Now where's the 'White Truce Flag' smilie Melody? How can I declare a truce when you haven't provided me with an appropriate emoticon?:twitcy:
