Thanks Andrew. Sorry for the late addition to the calendar of the PRAC Fall Auction.... it's up there now.

Thanks, Jay.
If anyone is going, PM me and perhaps we could meet. I'm planning on being at both of them. :spinny:

I may go, I don't work this weekend (which is rare) and just pop in to see what there's to see. Thing might be bittersweet though I'll be able to touch base with neighbourhood hobbyists. Gonna think about it. Weather's gonna be a big factor.

My wife will be at the Peel Auction, as we will be selling at this auction. I have to work this Sunday unfortunately.
I will be at the Kitchener-Waterloo Auction the following weekend and we will be selling there also.

I'm a happy camper! I got one of the groups of the X. alvarezi and a pair of the X. nezahualcoytl. Gorgeous fish! Everyone made it home in good shape and are acclimated. I also got a bag of purple delta guppies for my daughter. Not my cup of tea, but when the kids are interested, I try my best to accommodate.
Prices for many fish were very low. Some of the cichlids went ridiculously cheap. Not sure why. I thought I did well on the prices I ended up paying... much lower than I had envisioned. Good for the buyer, not so good for the seller & club. What was your assessment of the price your lots fetched?
I was hoping to find a culture of white worms or grindals, but live foods were scarce at this auction. I did get a microworm culture, and I promised myself (and my dear wife) that I would make sure to look after them in order to avoid another Great Stink.
I'm assuming I got your fish. Just a quick Q about the nezzies. The literature I've reviewed says they like it a bit cooler. I've got them in a tank that is running about 20 C right now, and it will likely run a little cooler coming winter months. In your experience, will this be okay? I can pop a heater in the tank if needed.
I'm not sure I need to go to the KWAS auction now. No room left at the Inn. The show part might be fun tough.

Congrats on your new acquisitions, Andrew! That's awesome. One never knows what prices items will fetch at an auction. I've seen rarities go for a song and dime-a-dozen items fetch a tidy sum. That's what auctions are all about.
Glad to hear your daughter is still interested. At that age their interests change like the wind. We'd love to see a picture of her tank, if you think she'd let Dad post one.

Will do. It's still a work in progress. We've had the tank since January, but only set up up about a month ago. Blame Dad for that.

It teaches her much about the planning process and patience... no blame need be assigned.:nah:

Hi Andrew
The nezzies that you got were mine if it bag said seller #1. I keep my nezzies at a temperature of about 22 degrees and no lower than 20 degrees. This is the temperature range that I keep all my Xiphophorus Sp.
We will be selling White Worms and Micro Worms at the KWAS Auction.

Looks like I'll need to bump up the heat just a little bit over the winter. Thanks!
