I dug this up again after reading another thread on Internet Privacy. This is an excellent, free kit from the Polly KlaasŪ Foundation. Internationals need to print it, but its worth it.

From the website:

The Polly KlaasŪ Foundation's Internet Safety Kit (http://ga0.org/campaign/internet_safety_kit_international) contains guidance for parents on ways to:

Keep your children safer online.
Help open communications about the Internet with your children. The Kit also includes a free download of Wired With Wisdom, an Internet safety training program for parents from Web Wise Kids.

DID YOU KNOW...

:wideeyed: Half of teens 13-18 have talked online to someone they've never met.

:wideeyed: One third of teens have discussed meeting someone in person whom they have only known online.

:wideeyed: 1 in 8 teens have discovered that someone they were talking to online was actually someone older posing as someone younger.

I am... and I hug you and everything! But then again, everyone is young and good looking on the Internet...lol.

Once a guy gets to your age it is much different than a 14 year old kid online or a teenage girl, but you should still avoid meeting up with these people unless you're in public with a lot of BIG friends ;) . I met up with a guy to buy fish once and it was one scary scenario, involving cops, and I'm very much a grown up, street-wise woman. Now I don't do any buying or selling in person, unless its Mr. Mykiss because he wouldn't hurt a fly... well maybe if he used the fly as bait, but that's beside the point.
