Surely he would change the wedding date for something this important!

It isn't far for me to attend, I may even be able to grab a go bus there from Square One. I just need to have that weekend off -which I can do if I'm still working where I'm at.

We are finally getting him married off, so don't want to ask him to change anything in case he changes his mind. :laugh:They said April or May so hopefully they will pick April.

Noctame that would be good if you could go, and maybe meet some CAC members there.

Would be neat :D We'll see how the new year fares! And who knows, by then my tank fever will be satisfied and I will have stocking to do! (Gonna wait til the convention that way I can focus on plant establishment before then or even get a shrimp population goin! Still praying I get a tank for Christmas or my Birthday in March!)

I just announce what people are getting me for my birthday, often after the fact. "You bought me a fish tank and thoughtfully included a filter, thank you!" Men especially like this arrangement.

As my bf has more tanks than me, he loves that arrangement. "Are you using that tank, airpump, brine shrimp hatchery, etc.?" has become the "sweet words" in our relationship. Back to CAOAC, I hope to attend and bring back my suitcase full of fish. Now if only Betta Breeders Canada will invite me again!!

So I met Pamelajo(long overdue, great person) and had a great time. Team "fishclubgirl" came home with one second and 2 thirds with 5 entries. The second place molly became a mom to 2 dozen perfect fry on the flight out, perhaps a secret to her success. We had a wonderful time and will be coming home with a few new additions to the menagerie. Can't wait until next year!!

Also had a great time and got to meet fishclubgirl(yes long overdue and also a great person) How did we hook up? Thanks to CAC bags!! I saw someone putting plants on the tables and knowing Fishclubgirl knew she would bring plants, but could not see her name tag. Did notice the long thin bags she was putting on tables and upon closer inspection saw the logo!! So Jay your logo bags are responsible for united members!!!

I only went to the auction part of the convention and left about 3:30 it started at 12:30. Ray Lucas (I believe that is who is was) started the auction with many donations. They had 50/50 draws the first one being prize of $50 which hubby and I won. He paid for it and I claimed it so we split. They also had a silent auction, a draw for a few tanks. I bid on a pond plant and a water garden book.

Your lucky day! Any plans on what to spend your portion of the winnings on?

more pond plants just bought some more water lettuce and hyacinth and parrots feather. This time though I made sure the lettuce and hyacinth had babies to break off and make more plants.

Fantastic! I won't ask what hubby spent his share on. (although I can bet it wasn't anything 'fish-y'.)

So I'm racing to catch my flight home and throwing fish in suitcases, plants in carry ons, etc. Totally slips my mind that I have a bag of molly fry to give to my friend in Toronto. So I get up to security and they pull out my bag o fry and my apple juice. Tell them to throw out my apple juice but what about the fry?? So I'd already been talking to one "fish nerd" security person and they decide I can take them if I can empty out the bag to 100ml. So the security lady and I start pouring out the breather bag and then the "big" security guy comes up and tells me just to take them. So they're now "flying fry" and I had no casualties!!! Still can't believe I forgot they were in there!!

Glad to hear you managed to get them on board... poor little things were probably wondering where all their water went to.

Got home with no casualties. Even the platy that tried to commit suicide(jumped out of a holding tank) rather than go in the show is fine.
