Other than building a specialty room (yes, we all dream) to combat humidity...does anyone use a dehumidifier? Does tank top-up day come more often with the use of one?
Other than downsizing  or completely renovation the home, the only solution I can think of is a dehumidifier.
Thoughts? comments?

I use a tightly sealed lid and dehumidifer when need be. But the lids tend to keep alot of it in. I also use some duckweed to slow the evaporation.

When the fish were indoors (Stock tank) during the pond redo humidity was definitely a problem. Dehumidifier helped, but I should have kept the filter return submerged.

In the winter the humidity actually helps with the dryness in our house anything without a lid has to be topped up. In the summer the air runs and takes out most of the humidity.

A slightly cracked window is good for that, and for you too  . Some houses are so energy efficient that they are too well sealed and oxygen levels can even drop.
I have the fan in both washrooms going 24/7, upstairs & downstairs. I live in the mold Province, thanks to our 10 month rainy season  , and have never had an issue. I've been watching for it because neighbours have mold issues without tanks. As those are the only things I do, I'm guessing they're a big help.
The submersed filter is definitly something that would help. My tanks alway have to be topped off more when I'm running my filters on high.

I use a dehumifier at my place. Tank top up isn't an issue here, but I have a lot of tanks and a house with weird ventilation. In my old place, a 1940s construction, humidity was no problem - the house was dry. In my 1960s house, I run the dehumidifier from October til the freeze, and again in the Spring - maybe 12-13 weeks a year.
Downside? My older model generates heat, and uses electricity. I've never calculated how much, but I'd say a fair bit. It does the job very well.

Like Melody, I live in 'mold central' but have never had an issue. Maybe it's because I have a window open 99% of the time (I like fresh air).
