What are some "shrimp safe" fish for my upcomming 10g shrimp tank.
I will have crystal red shrimp and cherry shrimp.
For fish I plan to have one pepper cory and a butterfly pleco in there.

The 3 fish you listed will do fine with shrimps. You might find the occasional cardinal eating shrimplet, but nothing to worry about in a planted tank. If your tank is almost naked without a lot of plants, than even corydoras will eat the shrimplet. Plants is pretty much the key to keeping shrimp safe in a community tank.
Corydoras should be kept in no less than a group of 3. They need the company of others corydoras to be happy.
otocinclus does really well with shrimps.

yeah,thats what I thought.
I will have around 70%of the tank COVERED in plants.I think I will go with 3 glass catfish,an otto cat,and 3 pepper cats.Haha, almost a 100% catfish tank (otto cats are in the pleco family)
I was also thinking of harlequin rasboras.
I am still open to suggestions on stocking.;)

I'd probably shy away from Glass Cats - they're wild caught and one of their fave things to eat there are inverts/crustaceans. I agree that lots of cover is the key, but I thought I'd mention that they may be inclined to really hunt them.
I'm going to move this thread into the Invert/Crustacean section so it can be easily found by others who have the same question.

thanks for the info mel.
I never thought about hunting...It is quite a possability...
Hmmm, any other suggestions for fish?I will have (expencive) crystal red shrimp so I want to keep the shrimplets alive:yes:
Any other ideas?

I would test them out with the Cherry Shrimp first. Can you get those first and wait bit? Or you could get a small tank to house the CRS temporarily while you test. You really won't know until you test it for awhile and there's very few or no babies.
I'm no shrimp expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm very good at setting myself up for failure...lol...so I've learned the hard way to have a back up plan. By Melody's law, all of the Cherry Shrimp would be fine and all of the CRS would be gobbled.

Haha I have around 20-30 cherrys in a breeder cup right now.I am getting the CRS later.
I Will try them out.I had baby and adult guppys in the same tank as the cherrys, nothing happend.
I have had glass cats befour, they diddnt eat untill dusk, and they just hung out in the current.

My red cherries are breeding and living with small corydoras ie. pandas, pygmies, apple snails and Endler livebearers. I may try Ottos down the road.
