Exciting stuff! I have fry in their tank but they're too young to figure out what they are. I'm reasonably sure they're Kykesis though, color rules out most of the others and they're not albino so that rules out some more.

I only have the one Molly species in there, they just share with Hifin Albino Swordtails & a few Lyretail brooders, Albino Guppies & Longfin Bronze Cory's. I am the queen of space utilization ;) .
I will never need tanks as long as I have Patrick & Michael around - they're forever tempting me. I try to get rid of some tanks, Patrick starts telling me about a 15G long.... they're a horrible influence on me.

Is your second male developing his Kykesis colors at all? Doesn't look like it in the pic. Hope I didn't mislabel something...:wideeyed:
Some of their relatives are here:

Nice shots Blaine - the fry look to be a good size!

The second male is definitely smaller and less colourful. I've found with the wild types, they have much stronger dominance traits.
The alpha male spends as much time putting the smaller male in his place as he does chasing the females.
I'm planning, as the new tanks start running, to move the smaller male and a female into their own tank to give him the chance to be the big male.
Don't know if he'll respond, but I'm going to give him the chance.
I see the dominance in the males in the other wild types as well, the P. Latipinna and Velifera.

My P. Latipinna is about to be moved for that very reason in fact. He doesn't pick on other male Mollies - there aren't any, just him and his herem. He chases every single other fish out of the main open part of the tank though, and he's none too gentle about it. That's 3/4 of a 33G. So he's going into the 90G with his herem. The fish in there can handle him better and there's more room for him to distribute his dominant ways. Sure is a beaut though.
The male Kykesis aren't bad - just some chasing amongst themselves. They don't bother the other fish at all.

Ya, the Kykesis males tend to ignore other fish, but you're right about the Latipinna, they chase off any fish that gets in their way. :err:

They're such a 'beefy' fish that they can really give a fish a good shove. Very deep-bodied. I've never seen a Molly built like that in all of my years at this Livebearer thing. He's going to be one striking specimen when he's at his full size. That's why he's getting the herem...lol....every outcross I'm doing, be it for color, fancy finnage or both, is going to be through females in his tank. Right now he has P. Velifera, Green Sailfin Lyre, P. Latipinna, P. Salvatoris and a Silver Lyre Sailfin as girlfriends. :D
I'll be bringing in more fancy females for him on my next order, along with more Velifera. I only got the pair as back-up in case I lost some so I could fill the pre-orders. I'm glad I didn't have to hand him out!

Won't be until Spring - shipping this time of year is too nerve-wracking when you have hundreds of dollars in a box. I'm going to do overnight shipping this time just so I don't have to freak for a week, so it will be more expensive but they'll arrive in better shape. Last time was touch & go and they took a long time to recover. The heatpack also got wet and failed, hence me wanting to wait until nicer temp's. When I figure in losses I'm better off paying for overnight shipping.
