Does anyone know how to grow Pelia? It's a lovely, delicate plant I received from eBay, but since it does not appear to have a root structure, I have no idea what to do with it. It is shown as growing on a piece of driftwood but honestly it looks so delicate I'm afraid tying it will damage it.

I have some that came mixed with Java moss so I just tied it to wood or stone but I am sure it will become over run with moss in no time. The piece I have that is growing the best is not in the water at all but it has very high humidity. You have to be very careful not to damage the growths or they will die, just loosely tie it in place.

I have a piece of driftwood with a nice "bowl" in it and I let it float in that. It seems to grow out of the bowl and float at the bottom of the tank.I did have to move some fish who were disturbing it though. Mine is round pelia aka subwassertang. My other pelia is in my shrimp tank. I thought I had lost it but now have some growing in some really neat shapes. The shrimp don't disturb it at all. That pelia is a standard kind. I did get in some mini pelia but it floated off. Main thing with pelia is to get a big enough portion to start off with and not to use Excel. If I were to purchase mini pelia again, I'd get 2-3 portions to make sure it gets going. I also have some attached to driftwood with black thread that I purchased from some very patient person(Grand Poohbah) with much more creative talent than myself.

I have some attached loosely to a round river rock with a hair net and it was doing fine until my unidentified monster of a snail mowed it down.

Lol....snails as lawn mowers....that just makes me smile xP
Lots of people use pelia in betta tanks floating on the water for breeding...that much I've gathered. It is one of those plants that doesn't attach to things on its own tho, so it has to be secured with thread. If it seems delicate maybe it needs to beef up more before being tied?

Thank you everyone, that gives me some ideas. For now I left it floating in one of my tanks. One in which I do not use Excel. That was a very useful bit of info as I do in some of them. I have some stones that might work with it.
