I was cleaning out some used gravel i have had out sitting in a plastic bag since xmas, and i was just cleaning it, and it the bottom of the sink i find a earthworm :twitcy: were the **** did that come from, it must have been in the gravel for all that time. how did it survive? there was to much gravel and water, you think it would have died, and all this gravel was straight from another tank lol, how did it get there in the first place

Is a red wiggler/compost worm?
They don't drown as easily as the common earthworms. I threw in a whole red wiggler into my tank of goldfish once. A week later I found it hiding in the root system of my African Fern.

Planaria can get to a good size too and they don't seem to need much. I grew a worm like character out in a container just to figure out what it was once. I had brought some plants in so I figured that was the source but I wanted to ID it so I knew if it was a prob or not. I didn't feed it and it thrived for I don't know how long, growing away. Go figure.
