My little driftwood cats are so cute. Last night one scared the heck out of me. I was feeding bloodworms with tweezers and had them hanging about their clover mat hideout and one of them jumped up out of the water and grabbed some and just hung there for a couple of seconds. The breeder told me he usually uses tweezers for the blood worms and has had a similar reaction. I fed them BBS tonight and all six of them were whizzing around the tank. Man can they move, had a terrible time doing a head count.

They sound so cute and entertaining. I hope you plan on keeping them in that tank for a long time as from the sounds of it, you'll have a heck of a time catching them (without using tweezers and bloodworms like a baited hook.:twitcy: )

If they are moving too fast for a head count imagine the tough time you are going to have photographing them for all of us to see! :spinny:

You'll have to get your daughter ready with the camera and see if she can catch that on 'film'.
I can't even count BN's. I had one survivor from my albino x albino = brown spawn (they are in a community tank). I thought the kids at a school would get a kick out of the baby so I sent her along with the other fish. Fast foreword to me sitting here beside the tank and spotting the baby. Apparently there are two survivors. All of this time, I'm thinking I'm seeing the same BN. "You must be female if you're so clever as to avoid being eaten", I'd say to her. Apparently more clever than the female keeping her/them!

Mel you may even have more than two. The other day I was scooping, kept thinking I had them all from one tank, every time I can back there was another. Ended up with about 5.

It wouldn't surprise me!
I think I might need to invest in some longfins in the new year. It's funny because I'm not really interested in breeding them, but I love the looks of them flying around the tank, fins fluttering. Actually, I'm interested in breeding a lot of things but I don't often get around to trying, that's why Livebearers suit me. I'm a lazy breeder :swoon: . I'll leave the Pleco breeding to those who are dedicated enough to deserve it. But I do love finding surprises!
