Yay, new arrivals.

Box of shrimp arrived from San Francisco. My thanks to http://www.naturalaquarium.ws/ .

10 Green Shrimp - Caridina cf. babaulti
10 Bee Shrimp - Caridina sp. "Bee"
10 BumbleBee Shrimp - Caridina sp. "BumbleBee"

Tried to get a few pics, but the shrimp are still pretty tiny.

The Green Shrimp kinda blend into the Java Moss, but if you look closely you can make out the shrimp

I love it when the FedEx guy brings livestock that just can't be found anywhere else.

Don't be surprised if your shipments don't arrive from the US, by the way, if they spot them at the border they'll snag them. It happened to me twice before I gave up.

I tried to go to that URL and got a bikini babe who gave me self-loathing issues  .

Lets edit in the correct URL, don't need any 'self-loathing issues'

Someone from customs ( I assume ) saw what was in the box, it was opened and resealed.

The hope is to end up with a few tanks full of all of them.
Part of the reason I have so many unusual aquatic residents is to help bring something new to the local hobbyists.

I'm often envious of reading about some of the finds in the lower mainland, out here, this stuff is unheard of.

If I can bring in and spread around some unusual critters, I can have something different and, with a little luck, I can offset some of the costs involved.

Customs isn't the prob - none of the couriers take anything alive. If they catch it they send it back. They won't even take live plants. It took me forever to figure out why mine kept getting returned. There was no notice on the box or anything. One day I was talking to a courier about something else and she told me about the rules. Purolator processes the parcels through customs for Canada Post so even mail didn't get through.

There are certainly those drivers who just want to get done so they move it all through but its russian roulette. That's one of the main reasons that breeders stopped shipping here. When Aquabid first got popular, many of them shipped here. One breeder actaully got a warning telling him not to try it again (right before I got my order in of course:rolleyes: ). Its also why we started picking up the boxes and processing them ourselves.

Anyways, glad it worked out for you!

No bikini babes on that one but they hit one of my pet peeves - no prices. Why have a website and not put prices one it? Sheeeesh....lol.

Anyways, the Green Shrimp are indeed cool - I don't think I've ever seen those either.
