I love looking over the beautiful planted tanks of other people. I have spent a lot of time looking at contest winners. Care to have a look at the Aquatic Gardeners Assoc. 2006 Winners (http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/ADA2006.html)? You can also view the submissions from 2000 right through to 2005 (http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2006.cgi?&op=showpage&name=view-ag-s). Talk about inspiration.

I am not devoted enough to pull it off myself, but one day I would like to have something at least half decent for the livingroom tank.

In the meantime, I want to live vicariously through you. Post pic's of your planted tanks, if you would please  . Thanks!

I'll start this off even if my planted tank will never ever come close to some of those beautiful ones. And so, here is the current version of my 70G planted tank (Jungle effect...lol). Now lets see some from you folks who spend time on the aquascaping of your planted tanks!

LOL No worries - next time just post the tanks at work too  .

Keep 'em coming - any planted tank impresses me, Ms. Lazy Aquascaper over here. I actually like the jungles to tell you the truth, because their functionality as fry savers and environment cleaners appeals to me.

So don't think they have to be the envy of Mr. Amano to be proud of your planted tank - if you can grow anything, its awesome.:Orient:

Here is my 30G planted tank. I spent lots of time designing the aquascaping of this tank :twitcy: Hope you like it!

Very nice effect. My question is, how did you get the fish to pose in the perfect position equally spaced within the tank? You have some secret to training them?

Yeah, it looks like something you'd see on a box in a fish store....lol.

If it was a picture on a box, you would see about 100 goldfish there!

Good point, sadly enough. Maybe we should tell them that we wouldn't trust a product manufactured by a company that doesn't even know about stocking levels. How could they possibly know anything about making a quality aquarium product if they don't know the basics? Hmmm?

Here's a before & after about 7 months of growing in my 72 bowfront. Picture on the before is done with crappy camera phone(sorry about the quality but give an idea of what it looked like freshly planted), & the after is with my new much better quality digital cam.

That looks like a fish Heaven! Did you find that planting a Bowfront presented any special aquascaping challenges?

No probs planting at all.

As for heaven, I believe my cory's think so. I find a dozen or so fry that "make it" every couple of weeks.

Sadly, the 30G no longer looks like that. I traded some of the plants and the rest were having some issues so I just re-did it. I'll post pics once it's done.

It's amazing how much growth there is in 7 months... lots of healthy looking plants! I really like the look of bowfronts.

I've seen your tank Ms. Fishykisses tank and it's quite unique... very long and cut low. Lots of room for fish to explore. I like the current aquascaping.

I like some algae on ornaments period - always looks more natural. Unfortunately, the snails won't let me have any. I'd really like some on the new pots I put in there - they jump right out atcha at the moment... kinda like my tacky Valentines Avatar...lol.

This appears to happen frequently among our fishy friends circle. I once purchased a bunch of Platy fry from Ms. Fishykisses. Mr. Mykiss was to take the males and I was taking the females as brooders. When we first received them, all of the fish appeared to be females so I got them all. Then as they matured it turned out that Ms. Fishykisses was right all along - there was males in there. I had no use for males so I gave them to Mr. CACAdmin.

Several generations later, Ms. Fishykisses sees Mr. CACAdmins lovely Platy's, and decides to get herself some. They turn out to be her great great grandfishies!

THEN one time Mr. Mykiss spotted some Lyretail Swordtails at an auction and snagged them for his friend who loves Lyres. When he told me he had them he said they were Swordtails, figuring that I'd know they were Lyres since that's what I'm into. I declined thinking they were regular Swordtails and I didn't have space for those. Duh Melody.

Later on Mr. GP gets those Lyres from Mr. Mykiss. I'm like "Why didn't you tell me they were Lyres, Mr. Mykiss?!" And he's like "WOMEN!!!" Later on down the road Mr. GP decides to get out of Lyres and guess who got them there fishies? ME!

I love it when a plan comes together!
