This rarely seen Livebearer is always a fave. I just counted all of the pregnant bellies....lol...I best move some of them before Spring hits and I bring more fish in. I brought the parents in and Mr. Soggybottom bred these ones. I got a bunch of the offspring on a trade, a big bunch  . Regardless, he did a wonderful job and they're beautiful healthy young breeders now.

Fantastic community fish with a unique shape that earned it the name 'Humpback Limia'. When mature the male is very deep bodied and has a noticeably high 'forehead'.

I don't have pic's of any fully mature males. This is a picture of young adults from the same group as the fish for sale (Edit: Sorry, I mean that they're from the same group as the parents of the fish for sale. End edit). They're getting close to maturity.

Here is some of the actual young adults for sale. As with many wild-types, their color constantly improves until they're fully mature.

Easy to care for and breed, unique & personable. I need to move them so I'll let them go for $15/Pair.

Pick up is in Surrey, BC or I'll ship. Heatpack is $3 for shipped orders under $25. I also have various snails (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28) available.

Thanks for your interest!

what temps do you keep these guys at???

Melody

I keep them at room temp - around 72F. They prefer the lower end of tropical temp's, low to high 70's. Their requirements are much like Mollies in most other respects - slightly alkaline but adaptable and some use marine salt, some don't. My guess is that like Mollies, if you have a lower pH/GH the marine salt is more crucial to having them thrive, but it isn't absolutely necessary as they are found in both freshwater & brackish environments.

I kept them several years back.. and sure would like to keep them again. Maybe when it warms up I can get some from you.

I haven't decided if I'll keep them breeding here or not, but if not, someone will have them I'm sure. Otherwise, that's why God & Uniheat made heatpacks ;) . Winter shipping isn't a prob if you change your mind.

I am getting a tad concerned about my space as I plan my latest orders...lol. I have lots of room but not for a whole bunch of species that can't be kept together to prevent hybrids. I'm looking at several species of Limias and they'll have to be housed.

My intent is to get as many species into Canada as possible. Then I can decide on my faves and get them back down the road if I don't keep them now. However, on this trip I'm getting a lot of fish that I want to breed first and distribute later. One of the main reasons for that is that I'm going with overnight shipping so I'll have to keep the numbers down.

That's the method behind my madness. But if I still have them we can certainly make arrangements later, thanks!

I have all of the professional supplies required to ship all year round, including 72 hour heatpacks for those longer trips  , styro boxes, etc. My last shipment was to Ontario in fact...brrrr. There are limits as to how low we can go before the heatpacks can't be trusted and it has to take into account the barely-heated cargo holds and loading ramps, but normal Winter temps aren't a prob. Anything lower than -10 makes me very nervous, although others ship at lower temps than that on a regular basis.

I ship 3-Day Express, which is usually 2 days to Saskatoon I believe, & I throw in misc. this & that's to help offset the shipping cost. PM your postal code and I'll be happy to get you an estimate from the CanadaPost.ca site. No obligation of course.

Edit: Let me know how many fish you're interested in as well so I'll know what box to get an estimate for. Thanks!

It appears that I should have been selling trios.....lol...I can only see one male and a bunch of females in the tank, other than what has already been sold as pairs. If anyone wants to purchase the male and a herem I'll count 'em up & give you a deal.

If you want to top off your population with extra females, I can sell them individually as well. How much? Good question... hmmm... I'll let the extra females go for $6 each. I think everyone who has them purchased them from me, so you should get a deal.

If you want to take your chances and get just females, they should be prehit but they're young so I can't guarantee it. Maybe someone with a pair will provide a stud service if not  .

Mr. Madattiver, I'll be sending you an extra female to help offset your shipping costs so consider that if you were about to speak....lol.

Well, I'm not so hot on the idea of paying shipping for 3 or 4 fish, but if you have some around when the next big order hits, I'll certainly give a good home to a few of them.

If you want, I'll prepay. ( Yes, Melody is that dependable of a supplier/shipper. )

Y'all talk so purdy to me!:D

I think that means you have to buy more to make it worth the shipping. Could I interest you in $50 worth of Bottom Bites?

I'm actually more worried about losing that male between now and then and being stuck with a bunch of females:rolleyes: . He's perfectly healthy, but that's how my life goes (that's not in a whiney voice, that's in a resigned voice....lol). I won't be bringing in anything new and exciting until probably mid-end May. I'm trying to time it for when the weather is perfect everywhere. If I go too early I need heatpacks for this end but the tropical States are needing cold packs.

HOWEVER, if you flutter your eyelashes at Mr. SoggyBottom... actually don't, he'll probably hit you....lol....but if you are very nice to him, he may be heading this way closer to the order time and could sell you a pair of his prolific fishies. Then he can just drop them off here for shipping. :D

Don't matter who they come from or if it's all girls, as long as that male you have gets friendly with at least one of the girls ;)

LOL Such a determined guy. I don't know if they're hit or not. Some look to be but I can't say for sure. Odds are for it I would think, but they're just barely breeder size.

Looks like I have one male and three females left, near as I can see. Mr. Madattiver's are on their way to him now that he's ready for them. Blaine hath spoken second, so tis Blaine that has first crack if he wants to trade me some fries for them. Not McDonalds either:Neener: . Otherwise, they'll be on the block!

I love spreading these fish around. Not two years ago I couldn't find a wild-type Livebearer in Canada to save my soul.

Hope they make the trip ok!

And with that, the fishies are gone! Thanks for your interest everyone. If you would like to get some I can highly recommend Mr. Soggybottom for both awesome fish and reliability! In fact, when I change my mind and want them again, I'll be hitting him up for more  .
