Hey everyone, I was at my local Big als this past weekend and I came to a realization about the dense artificial grass that they recommend for use in breeding community tanks. ( I grasp that the best way to preserve your fry is to move them into a separate tank, but if you have seen my post from when i first joined you all, I do not want a huge population of fish.)

Anyways, I realized that this artificial grass that was recommended to me was 8$ for a small square. that is expensive as it is, now carpet part of your tank with it and it starts to build up.(again i have 8$ to spend I would just rather not) so i went looking at my local dollar store. i decorated my hermit crabs tank and my bearded dragon's tank with artificial flowers from the dollar store. Plastic flowers not the fabric ones. After looking to for a short while at the huge wall of fake plants i had found a solution.

in amongst the plants i found a decorative plant that had leaves similar to a boxwood's.

i quickly purchased my new find as well as some other random trinkets and headed home( i love the dollar store)

I removed the plastic leaf packets from the metal stem and soaked them over night in a water and vinegar mix.
in the morning i rinsed off the pieces and submerged them in my tank i am setting up for my guppies and stuck them in place in a dense grouping as well as some stray shoots for aesthetic purposes, i will have to see how it goes, and i will get back to you with an update in a few weeks.

i will post a picture of the stuff i used
