While I was trying to catch Orangey and his babies last night, I also took some cool pics of my other fish. These two are of a feeding frenzy some of my guppy girls get into:

This was all over a couple of shrimp pellets and yes, there were fed their regular food before that. No, there's no planaria problem in that tank. These godzillas as I call them eat every little scrap. Those are my girls that swim into my hands and expect to be fed every time I look at them. I'd hate to be a little critter in that tank...
And here is one of my Betta boys, guarding his bubble nest. No eggs yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

You captured the perfect moment in that 1st pic with that one guppy standing on her head... creating the perfect fan shape... sure you didn't ask them to pose?
As for you betta, he's a beauty. Thanks for posting the picture as I've never actually seen a bubble nest before.

Thank you, guys, he is a beauty. He's one of the 4 that came over from Thailand. Breeding in the winter didn't work but I'm hoping now, with spring, they will change their minds.
Here is a better pic of the bubble nest for you, Jay. It is under a styrofoam cup:

And a pic of the female, in the classic "head down" pose, under the nest:

I was watching them last night, hoping to catch the mating on film, but they just didn't get their vibes on the same wavelength. Still, he is so gentle with her, I was really amazed. No fin nipping or chasing. He just slowly approaches and flares his gills very slowly... It was really cute.
Sorry, guys, one more photo. This one turned out really well and I just love it. Dad under the nest (well, not quite yet dad), with the female in the background.
