I took a suggestion from AA and dipped a slough for invertabrates on wednesday. I think it was a little early in the season (we still have snow around) although we did end up with a good pile of what looks to be fairy shrimp, misquito larvea, and perhaps dragonfly nymph.

Some of these critters look very well equiped !! How do I go about feeding these safely to my brood ?
I want to retain the nutritional value should I ,

freeze them ?
dry ( suffocate ) them ?Me thinks live is not a good idea. I am open to suggestions. They are sitting on death row outdoors alive and well; in a bucket.
Now what?

I freeze Gamarus and sometimes dehydrate them after. I have a thing about slow, painful death - it haunts me  .

I wouldn't feed them live if you can't ID the larvae, ya never know what fry-eating creepy-crawly you could be introducing... or if it will develop into something that likes the wife's cheerios. This could be harmful to your health. :GEEK:
