Killies are starring in and have made the cover of the June 2010 issue of TFH magazine (http://www.tfhmagazine.com/). Nice to see some of these diverse fish in the limelight.

Back in the pre-David Boruchowitz days (he's the current TFH editor), killie articles were more or less banned as the fish were seen as uninteresting to the aquarium business. When I had my column in the magazine, I was permitted maybe one killie article per year, and that only if I submitted it close to the deadline.
Anyone who meets David B at conferences and such should go out of their way to thank him for what he's done to reconnect that magazine to hobbyists. The good stuff happening at TFH is by design and not by accident!

Thanks for the background, Gary. It's great to see that David Boruchowitz has re-focussed the mag to feature such topics which appeal to the hobbyist.

I am glad to hear that the killie hobby is being recognized as a worthwhile following in a popular magazine. Although I am not a killie enthusiast, there is no denying that many killies are beautiful fish. Ignoring their very existence would be a major loss to the hobby as a whole. I doubt that I will ever be a successful killie breeder, my persoanl focus is livebearers, but I love to look at them and have plenty of space for a few samples in my tanks.
