Bottom Bites are a premium, natural source of nutrition for Herbivores and Omnivores.

Bottom Bites now contain Sea Vegies!

Seaweed/Algae is awesome stuff for fish, snails, shrimp, etc. Protein, color enhancers, Calcium, vitamins & iodine for starters. Its a bit on the tough side, but pureed into the Bottom Bites its not a prob for even the smallest creatures to eat. Bottom Bites now contain at least FIVE species of Seaweed, including organic Palmaria, Porphyra, & Ulva species and 100% pure Spirulina Algae!

Now with NATUROSE!

From the Cyanotec website: "NatuRose® is a natural source of astaxanthin, derived from a unique strain of the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis — an algae first studied two hundred years ago by the scientist Girod Chantrans. The NatuRose production process enables algae cell walls to be cracked while maintaining carotenoid stability. This proprietary process increases the bioavailability of NatuRose natural astaxanthin and leads to higher uptake and coloration.

All NatuRose natural astaxanthin is produced in the pristine environment of Kona, Hawaii — where the ambient climate and pure sweetwaters lead to year-round cultivation of our astaxanthin-rich microalgae. "

Bottom Bites also contain pureed & chopped vegetables, various fresh, freeze-dried & frozen seafood protein & nutrient sources, and are further fortified with human-grade liquid Calcium, Vitamins, Garlic (fresh & Allicin supplemented), Wild Fish Oils and immunity building Herbs. All ingredients are chosen for their supreme benefits to aquatic creatures. Slowly dehydrated to maintain optimum nutrition levels.

Making these things takes hours/batch to dehydrate. It stinks to the high Heavens. Its messy, involved and my fingers smell like garlic and fish for days after. I refuse to go to all of this trouble to make a second-rate food - I can buy that off a shelf in 5 minutes. To sacrifice even an ounce of quality would render the entire thing a waste of time. When I say 'premium', I mean premium.:GEEK:

I have researched, studied and experimented for years and that hasn't stopped. When there's a way to improve the food, I improve it. My fish, snails & shrimp love it, they're healthy, growth rates are awesome, their colour is extraordinary and they breed like no tomorrow. This is MY food - I am sharing it by request.

This food is designed for Herbivores & Omivores. I do not recommend it as a premium source of nutrition for Carnivores, due to the very high vegetable content.

The Bottom Bites are very rich/concentrated so feed sparingly & keep them frozen. Since they're dehydrated, a nickle-size piece will feed a lot of creatures. An ounce does me a month and I feed A LOT of tanks. Thin, sinking and stable in water. All of this natural, premium nutrition is only $6/Oz! 16 ounces (1 pound) plus is only $5/Oz!

I'll ship world-wide or pick-up is in Surrey, BC. I make batches as required to ensure freshness so a little notice is appreciated. Payment via Paypal (including major credit cards or bank account transfers), Interac E-Mail Bank Transfers, Money Orders or Cash is accepted.

As always, I welcome your questions. Thanks for your interest!

OK folks... these are a must have... your aquatic critters will dive into Melody's Bottom Bites like they're candy. And best of all, they're very nutritious.

That said, I want to be first in line to get some... my critters have gone too long without. Thank you, Melody for finding a way to make Bottom Bites available once again!:Applaud::Flowers3:

Thanks for your kind words:Blush: . I actually enjoy the whole thing - the research & building a better machine is fun and rewarding.

My Son helps me and its something I'd like to have him take over eventually as a source of income while he goes to school. However, he doesn't quite get the importance yet of taking the time & investment to do it right, so it will be a few years before he takes over. For now he likes destroying everything to mush in the food processor  .

Here's some creatures enjoying the new Seaweed version:

They got it stuck in a corner in this tank and were so busy fighting each other for a turn, the little ones kept getting in there to eat it....lol:

These are horrible pic's but I accidentally caught the series of events so I thought I'd post it for entertainment. The Green Goodeid tried to bite the Black-eyed Gold BN Pleco so he'd leave the food:

Instead, the BN covered it with his body  :

I find the strangest tidbits of information when I research...lol....I use fish oil capsules, snipped & emptied into the Bottom Bites. Today I read that it takes "100 gallons of top-quality food-grade fish oil to make one gallon pharmaceutical grade fish oil" . How many fish that is I don't know, but it must be a lot.

I don't keep many Tetras anymore, but I happened to snap a pic that includes a Red Cardinal Tetra in on the frenzy so I thought I'd post it:

I tried out Melodys Bottom Bites last night in a couple tanks, I thought I would send Melody a PM about the results.

I've never seen such a ruckus before in all my fishkeeping years.
It was like sliding a big box of Twinkies into the middle of a Jenny Craig convention !:err:

Fights were breaking out, fish were body slamming each other, little fish were ganging up on the bigger fish.

Are you sure you haven't included a little fish crack into that stuff.

Whatever is in it, the fish seem to like it, more than a little bit !

On behalf of my fish, thanks.

That's so funny, Blaine. Good description, I could visualize what was happening in your tanks. Be interesting to see if mine do the same when I get some from Melody too.

It's funny to watch, the fish hover around the Bottom Bites, trying to figure out what smells so good, once they they figure it out, LOOK OUT !

It's mayhem !

Blaine, I did try to tell you earlier in the thread that my fish think Bottom Bites are candy but I guess I omitted to mention the mayhem which ensues. I loved your analogy of "a big box of Twinkies into the middle of a Jenny Craig convention".

And you're right, it is hilarious to watch them as they all scramble and push and shove to get their share. And so it's obvious that they taste good (to the fish ;) ) and they're comprised of all sorts of good stuff for them.

I keep wondering when my fish are going to start banging on the glass demanding their Bottom Bites... I'm out of them at the moment (order pending).:wideeyed:

Don't ya just hate it when you have a plan, a good plan, a plan bound to fail?

Take when you decide you want a Bottom Bite all to yourself. You hide it under a rock. The snail catches you but you make a deal - you'll share if he keeps his mouth shut....

The moral of the story? NEVER trust someone slimey to keep their mouth shut....

The Naturose came in! I've been really excited about adding Naturose to the Bottom Bites. I've heard nothing but good about it. See initial post for details about Naturose.

It doesn't seem to throw the taste off one bit!

Please meet Wee Beastie..Upon putting a piece of Bottom Bites in the tank enough for a snack for 7 goldfish Wee Beastie decided to swim around with it only dropping it now and again to bite whoever was trying to get some of 'HER' bottom bites.

For a while there I thought it was going to have to be surgically removed. :twitcy: My camera died so I couldn't continue to photograph the carnage but its charging. Hmmmm forget about the fact that its good for fish, its funny as heck!

ROFL What a beautiful fish who obviously knows what's good for him. Thanks for the report on how Goldfish feel about them - I don't think I've heard from anyone else about how they like them. You'll have to get some pic's up of all your little darlings.
