What would cause an old piece of driftwood to float?? Would it be starting to rot?
A piece of wood that I've had in the tank for about 2 years started to float. It was a piece of bog wood so I'm guessing it has gotten to old.

That's interesting, but I don't know why. Most of the wood in my tanks is from the garden, and is a little hard to get to sink. But once it's sunk, it stays sunk.
Zombie wood?

... Zombie wood?
lol
any bogwood I've had/have crumbles when it's really old. It only floats again after it's been in the oven.
I don't know if this is even possible, but what if: an interior area is actively rotting for some reason. could that form enough co2 to float the wood?
