Today I netted some platy fry out of the 70g (the ones I could see and catch) and lo and behold there was one little Plumetail amongst them! I couldn't believe it. This is my very first Plumetail fry. Now my female Plumetail is pregnant and hasn't yet given birth so one of my other females must have been hit by my male Plumetail. I keep looking & looking to see if I can see any other little Plumetails. There are bound to be more (unless they were munched). Only time will tell as the tank is so heavily planted that fry can hide almost indefinitely. In fact I also just found another baby molly weeks after I thought I had netted them all out.

Found another today but they are really tiny. My poor old eyes have a problem spotting the plume.... even though the plume is very long given the size of the fry. (The eyes begin to fail you when you're past 40... ummm past 50...lol).

Go to the dollar store and get one of those big magnifying glasses or those big sheet magnifiers for reading or those magnifying reading glasses or hire a sweet young thing to come and do it for you  .

Somehow 'sweet young thing' doesn't bring an image of Melody to mind  .
